About Us

Founded in 2014, the Sai Murugan Social, Education and Charitable Trust (SMSECT) is a visionary non-governmental organization dedicated to transforming lives through holistic social service initiatives. As a registered and non-profit organization, we passionately strive to address the critical needs of the underprivileged in society by providing nutritious food, safe shelter, essential clothing, and comprehensive rehabilitation services.
At the heart of our mission is the empowerment of women entrepreneurs., We believe in fostering an environment where women can thrive economically, allowing them to not only uplift their families but also contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Introducing Magizham: A Beacon of Joy and Learning


Under the auspices of SMSECT, the Magizham initiative is a hallmark program designed to inspire and educate. It comprises four remarkable units tailored to meet the diverse educational needs of children and aspiring educators.

Magizham has the following units :

  1. Magizham Montessori House – Tendering a nurturing environment for our youngest learners, we cater to children from K1 (Pre KG) to K5 (Grade 2). Our Montessori approach fosters curiosity, creativity, and a love for learning that stays with children for a lifetime.
  2. Magizham Open Learning Community (MOLC) – Serving students from Grade 3 to Grade 10, this innovative learning community is built around the NIOS framework, providing a flexible and inclusive education that encourages students to excel academically while embracing their individual talents.
  3. Magizham Smiling Stars – A revolutionary program for children with special needs, Smiling Stars offers personalized learning experiences, ensuring that every child shines bright in their own unique way. We are committed to breaking barriers and providing every child with the opportunity to thrive.

Founder's Note

Mrs. Neelaveni

Ms. Neelaveni is a passionate educator with over 30 years of experience, whose leadership lights the path at the Magizham Open Learning Community. She holds degrees in M.A., B.Ed., B.LISc, and is also a trained Special Educator, embodying a deep commitment to empowering students for the challenges of the 21st century. Her journey in education began in middle school, where she was honored as a Guide Captain, receiving the esteemed Rajya Puraskar Award from Ms. Fathima Beevi, the then Governor. Today, she serves as a dedicated Adult Leader Trainer and Assistant Leader Trainer with the Bharat Scouts and Guides in Tamil Nadu, where she continues to inspire future generations through training and mentorship. In recognition of her outstanding service, she was awarded a personalized Indian Postal Stamp featuring her image—a prestigious honor celebrating her invaluable contributions to the nation through scouting. She has trained over 200 scouts and guides, shaping young minds with discipline, compassion, and leadership. Acknowledged as one of the Most Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs by the Asia Book of Records, Ms. Neelaveni's unwavering dedication to lifelong learning and community service remains the cornerstone of her career. With a deep love for books and a heart committed to service, she continues to make a lasting impact on her community and beyond.

At Magizham Open Learning Community, we follow a hybrid model that blends Montessori principles, non-formal education, and experiential learning.

-Our Hybrid Model We Combine montessori principal experiential learning, hematic units-project based learning and non-formal education strategies.
-Our Hybrid model supports every child's unique journey—especially slow learners, gifted children, Children with learning disabilities and children from varied Socio-economic backgroundds.

Magizham

Sai Murugan Educational Trust had a humble beginning in 2014 with 10 pre primary children in Hosur. We progressed to a Montessori school in 2017 and started MOLC (Alternative Education) in 2020. Since then MOLC family is growing steadily with a strong team of teachers and enthusiastic children.

Mrs. Seema Joshi
Mrs. Seema Joshi

Mrs. Seema Joshi is serving as Head Mistress in Magizham since 2021. She holds a post-graduate degree in Commerce with B. ED and Montessori certificate. With rich experience of 13 years in different schools in Hosur, her goal is to create a positive and engaging learning environment for students. Being a Montessorian, she beautifully weaves Montessori philosophies and the subjects (particularly math) to build confidence and competence in children. Seema’s ultimate objective is to support each students overall growth equipping then with the skills necessary for their successful future

Poonam Arora
Poonam Arora

Poonam Arora holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, Diploma in Education and Certificate in Monessori Education. With a rich experience of 18 years as Kinder Garten teacher, it is a cake walk for her to be the PIED PIPER for her lovely kids. Her favourite subject is Mathematics and her hobbies include Listening to music and dancing. Poonam's goal is to create an environment where children feel free to engage in activities and explore their potential.

Mrs. Suganthi

Mrs. Suganthi has been serving as a teacher at Magizham since 2020.
She holds BA degree in English Literature and is a Certified Montessorian with eleven years of experience in various schools . Her goal is to help children develop essential life skills, express themselves clearly, manage their emotions, empathize with others and build strong relationships. Passionate about making Tamil language easy to learn students, she excels in creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. In her leisure time, she enjoys traveling and listening to music.

Mrs R. DeviPriya
Mrs. R. DeviPriya

Mrs. R. DeviPriya is a Mathematics Teacher (OBE) with a postgraduate degree in Mathematics and PGDCA. She has 4 years of teaching experience, 3 of which are at Magizham. She incorporates activity-based learning to help students develop mathematical skills. Her methods include hands-on activities, math games, discussions, and individualized support. She enjoys listening to music.

Mrs. Ponni
Mrs. Ponni

Mrs.Ponni has 2 years experience at Kalaimagal school and 3 years of Teaching experience at Magizham open learning community.. She is a diploma holder in Nursing , BA – in Tamil and Hindi and a certified Montessori Teacher. Being a dedicated Teacher at Magizham, she helps students to develop curiosity, critical thinking and a love for learning. She emphasizes the importance of hardwork , persistence, teamwork to students and empowers all her students to pursue their dreams with passion and determination.

Mrs. V. Rajalakshmi
Mrs. V. Rajalakshmi

Mrs. V. Rajalakshmi is a passionate Healer. She is Dance Teacher in Magizham. Holding an M.Sc. and BAMS, she is a trained and qualified classical dancer dedicated to promoting creativity and discipline. Known for her ability to quickly build rapport and adapt to different environments. Mrs.Rajalakshmi connects effortlessly with people and tailors her teaching methods to suit children’s unique learning styles, fostering an engaging and participative learning atmosphere. While Mathematics is her favourite subject, her hobbies include listening to music and choreographing songs that blend modern trends with classical techniques. As a teacher, she is committed to creating a positive and joyful learning culture and as a healer, her goal is to build a society focused on holistic well-being, curing diseases without medicines.

Through theme based students can learn moral values, how to handle the situation in life and critical thinking, problem solving and general awareness.
